Escalation is the second call of duty black ops map pack to come out after the first strike map pack that was released in March.
There are 5 new maps released which are 4 new multiplayer maps a new zombie map.

The Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike Map Pack was released on Xbox 360 on the 1st Feb. There isn’t a release date yet for Playstation 3 (PS3) or PC.
It includes 4 new multiplayer maps; Berlin Wall, Kowloon, Discovery & Stadium and 1 new zombie map called Ascension.

There have been quite a few reports that people are having issues downloading the Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike map pack.
The problem downloading seems to be contained to the Xbox Live Marketplace store so purchasing the first strike map pack from within the call of duty black ops game or from xbox.com seem to be working ok.
This may have been resolved now as it has been out for a couple of days but there was a mention on the Xbox support page that read: “Users may be unable to purchase the following DLC for ‘Call of Duty Black Ops’: First Strike: Pack 1 when using the Xbox 360 console. This content is available in the ‘COD Black Ops’ in-game store and from Xbox.com. We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.”

The long awaited Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike Map Pack is now available to download.
The new First Strike Map Pack includes 4 multi-player maps called Berlin Wall, Kowloon, Discovery & Stadium and 1 new zombie map called Ascension. Berlin Wall & Kowloon are open maps that snipers will love, Discovery is set in an artic base and Stadium is a close combat map. The new zombie map Ascension is set in an abandoned Soviet launch facility.
The new Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike Map Pack will cost you 1200 MS points on Xbox Live.
The Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike Map Pack for the PS3 is expected to be out in March 2011.
The Zombies are back after the success of introducing them in the Call of Duty World at War earlier games.
The rules are really simple, you must make your way through the zombie maps, picking up weapons and perks whilst staying alive by killing any zombies that get in your way.
The zombies get harder the longer you stay in the game and the further you get in the map.

Zombie points
In call of duty black ops zombie games you have to earn points to be able to buy weapons & ammo and be able to open doors to access other areas within the map.

Here are some tips for the call of duty black ops Zombies games
The more the better
Zombie games are great fun but are near impossible on your own in the single player mode so you are best off getting your friends together and taking the zombies on as a team. If you do play on your own then you should be ok for the first few rounds but then it will start to get very hard.
This is an obvious one but if you are playing as a team then make sure that you talk to each as this will ensure that you are working together in the best way by sharing the ammo, weapons and most importantly covering the different parts of the playing area so that you don’t get killed.
Keep your barriers up
In most areas the zombies can get to you by breaking through the barriers but you can fix the barriers and build them up again by clicking on them and spending 10 points for each fix. This is really worth doing as it gives you that extra bit of time to survive.
Zombie crawlers can help
A “Crawler” zombie is a zombie that has had its legs blown off but is still managing to crawl around after you. Don’t be confused with the Nova gas zombies though as they also crawl around on the floor.
A good tip for call of duty black ops zombie games is to keep a zombie crawler alive at the end of each round. A crawler zombie is really slow so you can easily avoid it so this will give you really valuable time to go around and stock up on your ammo and weapons.
Buy the random boxes
You can buy new weapons and ammo at the various points on the walls of the playing area but these are limited. A good strategy is to buy the random box that’s on each level for 950 points as this is the only way that you will get hold of the level’s unique weapon.
If you decide that you don’t want the weapon then that’s fine you can just decide not to have it

Call of duty black ops secret easter egg - DOA: Dead Ops Arcade
Dead Ops Arcade is a single player shooting arcade game that’s great fun.
Zork is an old school text based game in which you type in commands to try and find your way through the game.
The place to access all of the secret hidden features within the black ops game you must enter the correct computer commands on the computer that is located on the main menu screen. To do so you must get yourself free for the hand ties and walk over to the computer. Go through to out secrets – glitches – cheats section to find out how to do this.
